Ready Set Start

The J. Spencer Foundation’s Ready Set Start Program empowers families in low income public housing units and moderate income unit’s pathways for success. We offer strategies combined with support services that empower families and individuals to know that they are more than their current situation.

We address issues so that residents are less likely to fall behind on rent, be evicted, or create other problems such as damage to units or violent disruptions; these improvements result in lower costs and better property management. We are a catalyst for change and we inspire that in the families we meet and the companies that we serve.

We offer strategies combined with support services that empowers families and individuals to enter and exit training, gain skills, get an education or a better education and employment. We offer resume writing, job tips and partner with agencies such as Dress for Success.

We bundle strategies together with evidenced best practices, partnerships, stackable credentials (education), clear structured pathways (goals) and support services. We want to bridge the gap between the company and the residents you serve. The challenges that the residents face are based on fear of doing well. They fear losing the assistance of their public housing subsidy and begin to make unhealthy choices. The J. Spencer Foundation is a company that works directly with these types of issues. The capacity of our company to deal with the residents on a level that they can relate to and understand will offer improvement in their personal relationships with management.
